Pedrini Black & Satin Citrus Fruit Juicer

Product Description

Manual juicer for fresh-squeezed citrus juice / Plastic basin holds up to 2 cups of juice / Convenient pouring spout / Durable plastic construction

Customer Buzz
Although this product sort of does the job, it's too bulky, takes up too much room and not all that easy to use. I'm old, with arthritic hands, and this just doesn't do it for me.

Customer Buzz
This juicer is sturdy, cleans easily, has a storage well for juice and stores in a small space. It also has two juicer heads which nest into one another. One is for lemons and small citrus and the other for oranges and grapefruit. I love it.

Black & Decker JE1500 Fruit-and-Vegetable Juice Extractor

Product Description

black & Decker, 1.5 Cup Capacity Juice Extractor, Easy 1 Hand Operation, Extracts Vitamin Rich, Natural Juices, Stainless Steel Cutter/Strainer, Separates Pulp From Juice, Safety Locking Latches.

Customer Buzz
I was expecting a little buggestion booklet about some ideas on recioes, etc, also i feel the thing is too imvolved aboute cleaning and reassembling, etc, i am just not happy and doubt seriously i'll use it again, if ever. sorry

Customer Buzz
I had mine less than a week and the motor burned out (bought on Monday & it died on Saturday). I was only making 2 glasses of juice a day. Also, the feeder is small, about 1 in by 2.5 in so fruits & veggies need to be cut up first which can reduce the amount of juice produced. I found clean up was fairly easy although it seemed like the pulp made a bigger mess than it should have. I wanted a cheaper one to start with to see how well I liked juicing before making a more significant purchase. However, I expected it to last a few months, not a few days. Lesson learned. I'd skip this product and invest your money in something with a larger, better made motor. I replaced this with a Juiceman, Jr with an 800 watt motor and I'm getting a LOT more juice and a lot less pulp than I was from this cheesy Black & Decker model.

Customer Buzz
I find this unit to be powerful, no problem rapidly juicing carrots, cucumbers etc. The quality of the juice is high, no pulp. You do have to wash the pulp catcher, plastic top, and cutter/strainer after each use. The stainless steel cutter/strainer is actually easy to clean, all you need to do is gently brush it with an old toothbrush under running water and it cleans right off. One day maybe I'll spend $250 on a juicer, but this does the job just fine right now

Customer Buzz
This is the first juice extractor I've owned, and while I'm enjoying it and it does produce good juice, there are a few setbacks that will keep me on the lookout for another.

The first thing that I don't like is that the fresh ingredients "feed" is way too small unless you're happy with cutting things into small pieces (I'm not).

The second is that the strainer is not easy to clean. I've tried several different ways and still not have been able to do it fully and thoroughly.

Oddly enough, it didn't come with any recipes. One or two simple ones to get you started would be extremely helpful. I had to get my information from a friends who's had one for a while (not the same juicer).

It does have a lot of parts, but you get used to them and as long as you rinse off the pieces right after you use them, they're not much trouble.

All in all, I can put up with the faults of this machine for fresh, healthy juice in return.

Customer Buzz
I got this juicer for Christmas. I really enjoyed having it. It was easy to assemble, use, and clean. Unfortunately one day the cutter/strainer component burst at the seam with a loud BANG, sending the juicer vibrating around the counter and scraping off strings of plastic from the inside of the machine. I called Black & Decker (they provide a phone number and website, but you cannot order replacement parts online) and tho the machine was less than SIX months old, they no longer carry replacement parts for it. Nor could I replace the whole machine because I did not have the original receipt.

So basically, it's a good juicer, but keep your receipt.

Customer Buzz
I bought this a Wal Mart last night. As already mentioned it had no kind of recipe book at all. Five minutes after I started using it it died. Ended up taking it back for a refund. Will look for a more reliable brand soon.

Customer Buzz
It's inexpensive, it works effectively, and I have no complaints. Other reviewers who are upset about having to clean the juicer would be disappointed with any juicer. Especially if you're going to juice carrots, it's going to be hard to clean your juicer. My tip--use a bottle brush to scrub with dish detergent and warm water.

Customer Buzz
So far I have tried to make apple and orange juice.

I was surprised that the machine did not come with many instructions or any kind of recipe book. I think this is the first kitchen appliance I have ever bought that didn't.

It has a lot of parts and it was difficult at first to figure out how to put it together. The juicer gets very messy, not just inside but out, when you use it.

Seems like a lot of work to make a little juice. You have to cut up the food into very small pieces because the spout at the top is not very large. It would be helpful if it was more like a food processor, where you can dump in a whole bunch at once. The machine is very powerful but makes a burning smell and is loud. It's difficult to put the food in while the machine is going because it can pop back out at you.

So far the juice I have made was not very tasty and it was very pulpy. It may be that I did not pick the best kind of fruit, though.

I'm not sure if any of this is typical of juicers or not because I've never had one before. I got it as a gift. I am looking forward to trying more and different kinds of juices.

Once you figure it out, it does snap together and apart pretty easily. The mesh is hard to clean, but the rest is easy.

Customer Buzz
For the money it works, fine but:

1) It leaves alot of chunks behind, pieces of fruit & veggies are not fully processed.
2)The pulp is pretty wet, it doesn't get alot of the juice out, with wet pulp it gathers up in the lid and blocks the remaining pulp from going in to the trash recepticle.
3. Cutting Blade and strainer are hard to clean.

Customer Buzz
It's a fair juicer and you can use it for everyday job but there are some cons:
When we juiced the first carrots, most parts of the juicer got the orange color and wasn't gone after washing.
It adds some pulp to the juice (which is not necessarily bad).
The motor rotates so fast that there's not enough time for juicing resulting in some unjuiced left-over.
Overall, if you don't want to spend a lot of money on a decent juicer, this one is good for the price.

Black & Decker Citrus Juicer - Stainless Steel

Product Description

Fresh squeezed citris juice...right when you want it! Quick and simple, just place cut fruit on the cone and press down to start juicing. Self-revervsing cone squeezes just about every drop of juice from citrus fruits. Contemporary stainless steel design! Enjoy all the nutrition and natural taste of fresh squeezed, seedless juices poured right into a glass. When done just lift the stainless steel snap-up spout to prevent dripping.

Customer Buzz
This juicer does an excellent job of juicing oranges. It has an adapter for smaller fruits such as limes. It reverses direction on successive presses, which probably increases the total juice yield. The stainless steel body is attractive. It is easy to clean. It is considerably less expensive than many other juicers and I have no hesitation in recommending it.

Vitamix Blender Replacement Tamper - Blender Tamper

Product Description

vitamix Blender Replacement Tamper - Blender Tamper Features & SpecificationsReplacement Tamper For the vitamix 4500 Blender vitamix 4500 Blender replacement Tamper

Customer Buzz
Well, join the club. This is the replacement for that chewed up part. Next time, let's make sure the lid is on when we use the tamper, okay? (Doh!)

Customer Buzz
My daughter received the Vita-Mix Super 5200 last Christmas, and she has already destroyed two of the hollow plastic Tampers. Thankfully, both were replaced by Vita-Mix, but only after some assertive arguing with the Vita-Mix customer service reps. The Vita-Mix is an awesome machine, with numerous uses. On their website, Vita-Mix states that it is, "Engineered to perform, engineered to last". The included Tamper (Accelerator Tool/Tamper, as it's called by Vita-Mix) was "engineered" to shred if it should come in contact with the rotating blades. While that was a good idea, much more consideration should have been given to engineering a Tamper that would not be able to contact the blades in the first place. The Vita-Mix "Use and Care Manual" cautions that "Excessive force may cause the Accelerator Tool/Tamper to extend too far into the container and possibly cause damage to the blades". My daughter read the manual and she read that caution ... and she has exercised caution .... but both times the Tamper got shredded were while my daughter was grinding nut butters. And both times, the Tamper was pulled, not pushed downward into the rotating blades ... and both times, the nut butter ingredients were wasted because the tip of the hollow Tamper shredded into thousands of tiny pieces of plastic. Obviously, after the first incident, my daughter was extremely careful when using the Tamper ... but the second time, the tamper AGAIN got pulled into the blades again. "PULLED" (read further), not pushed. The Vita-Mix Tamper and lid design has problems ... and, if you check the check the internet, you'll find that others have experienced identical problems (shredding the Vita-Mix Tamper). Vita-Mix customer service reps told me that they don't hear many reports of their Tampers shredding, but I'm willing to bet that this is mostly because replacement Tampers are available and cheaper on sites other than the Vita-Mix website.

Vita-Mix Tamper, problems:

The "Use and Care Manual" shows a picture (drawing) of the "Current Accelerator Tool/Tamper". That picture is incorrect/misleading. It shows a Tamper with a "step" in the middle of its length, and it appears that the "step" is square cornered. The "step" is NOT square cornered, it is chamfered or beveled. That "step" is what is supposed to prevent the Tamper from being inserted too far through the hole in the Vita-Mix lid (when using the 32 oz. container). Since the "step" on the Tamper is chamfered (not squared) and the neoprene lid is flexible and gives a little, the Tamper can be easily pushed beyond the hole in the Vita-Mix lid. That, in itself, is a problem, but here is how the problem can be compounded: When the lid and the tamper are wet with anything, especially oils, then the Tamper can be pushed ... with only moderate force ... beyond the chamfered "step" through the opening in the lid. And, to compound the problem further, the opening in the lid is square and the tamper is round ... which (obviously) results in contact (between the Tamper and the lid) being made in only 4 very small points in the lid opening (picture a round peg in a square hole). When grinding nut butters, little or NO force is needed to cause the tamper to be "pulled" into the blades. The stickiness of the mixtures combined with the blades pulling motion will actually draw the tamper past its "step" and into the blades. Again, no downward force on the tamper is required for this to occur when grinding nut butters. Aside from being a hollow, shreddable plastic, the tamper was just not engineered very well. Yes it will spare the blades if and when it comes into contact with them ... but (as I stated) it should not come into contact with the blades in the first place. When the Tamper is used with the large (64 oz.) container, it's impossible for the tamper to make contact with the Vita-Mix blades ... the Tamper simply cannot be inserted beyond its wide collar/flange.

One of the video demos on the Vita-Mix website shows a lady (Melissa) making nut butter. She's using the large (64 oz.) container and the Tamper is not pulled in beyond the wide collar/flange. If you pay close attention, you'll notice that Melissa actually exerts a little force 'pulling' the tamper OUT of the nut butter. That is because the mixture is sticky, and the Tamper being pulled in, toward the blades.

Possible solutions:

I wrote to Vita Mix, explaining this issue/concern, and I offered ideas for possible solutions to the Tamper problem. It's been nearly 2 weeks, and I've not received a response. I wrote that aside from stiffening the neoprene around the opening hole to prevent the "step" on the Tamper from passing through ... or actually making that opening in the neoprene lid round, instead of square (to insure more contact at the "step") ... a good solution might be to provide two (2) Tampers .... that is, have a second, shorter Tamper that would be used only with the 32 oz. container. That shorter Tamper would have a full-stop collar/flange to prevent it from being able to be pushed or pulled into the blades under any circumstances.

The Tamper has been our only complaint about the Vita-Mix Super 5200.

Customer Buzz
I think it is top rack safe but mine fell to the bottom and melted. It is definitely a necessity.

Lemon & Lime Squeezer

Product Description

Made of top quality stainless steel
Keep lemons and lime juice in the drink, where they belong, and out of cuts on your hand, where it doesnt help anybody!

Customer Buzz
I purchased this squeezer after a couple reviews said it was ok. Well it isn't and I would give it zero stars if I could.

I used it once and the handle bent. I washed it once by hand and while drying it the strainer basket fell off. So it is now in the trash.

Don't waste your time, squeeze it by hand.

Customer Buzz
This is the most reasonably priced lemon/lime squeezer that have been able to find after (ridiculous) hours searching. It works well. My husband is impressed with how much juice am able to squeeze out of each lime quarter. This is the go-to product for all those frugal folks out there who like lemon or lime juice in their water and other refreshing drinks. Highly recommended.

Customer Buzz
This product is made from sheet metal and it bends at the handles if you try to squeeze lemons with a thick rind. There are much better alternatives out there.

Customer Buzz
My dad had one of these when I was a kid and it was so easy to juice one lemon, lime, etc. Try it, you'll love it.

Omega 4000 Juicer

Product Description

Drink your vitamins and minerals in their most natural form and enjoy the health benefits and instant energy of pure juice. This machine is easy to use, easy to maintain and built to provide years of service. If you operate an inn or bed and breakfast, your guests will love the luxury of freshly squeezed juice and you will love the convenience. Leftover pulp is fabulous compost for your garden and is a great addition to cakes, quick breads, and soups.

Customer Buzz
I've tried just about every juicer there is for juicing Carrots.....I've even owned several very expensive models.....Norwalk Press, Nutrifaster N450, and the Ruby 2000. I've tried the Breville Juice Fountain, Samson 6 in 1, Omega 8003, etc., etc. The Omega 4000 has them all Beat....WY
P.S. The feed chute is now large enough to handle all but the very largest Carrots.

Customer Buzz
Super product, we can juice continuously, pulp ejects out the back. My wife likes it too.

Customer Buzz
This is my first juicer. Based on no expectations, here are my problems with this machine: chute is small, the juice shoots out of the top before you can even put your hand over it, the pulp is still wet, I kept getting chunks of fruit ejected, I had juice all over the counter instead of in the glass, it didn't give me the amount of juice that the recipe called for. I also thought the juice spout was low and you did not get a glass to catch the juice.

While cleaning wasn't too bad, it was a hassle unscrewing the nut that holds the basket in. A simple brush cleans it quite well - however, a brush is NOT provided. I personally thought the machine was relatively quiet.

I did buy this from CanningPantry.com - BIG MISTAKE - due to the problems listed above I contacted them for a return. Only to find out that their 100% guarentee is a lie. Once they found out I used it one time they refused to contact me or discuss it's return. Do yourself a favor and NEVER BUY FROM canningpantry.com.

Customer Buzz
I bought the omega 4000 and wow major disappointment. I did not even get a chance to use it, dame thing would not even turn on not even after pressing on the reset button. I was extremely disappointed to have paid over $200 for a product that never worked. Not to mention $35 dollars I spend on retuning this product and a 10% restocking fee. All this money just to return a product that never worked to begin with I find it truly unfair. Customer Service what customer service, they did not give a dame. I would say beware.

Customer Buzz
We use the Omega 4000 Juicer each and every day for juicing organic celery, carrots, and whatever fresh organic fruit/vegetable is available and in season at the local farmers' market. The finished product is just right and I'm happy to spend 5 minutes each day cleaning the machine in order to experience a healthier body and healthier attitude.

Customer Buzz
Buyer BEWARE! I ordered a Omega 4000 juicer as a gift for my father a few months back and the thing is absolute junk! Not only is there more juice coming out of the pulp than what is actually coming out of the spout but the pulp ejector is constantly getting clogged. I notified LivingRight (The company I purchased from.) about this and they stated that I would have to contact the manufacturer and if the manufacturer decided it was defective then they would exchange it. And when I told them they should make their return policy up front and clear (If you order from the above mentioned company PLEASE check their return policy!)they claimed that their return policy is exactly the same as other companies. WRONG! Other companies let you return products that do not work! And when I contacted Omega they claimed that they can't do anything because I did not purchase directly through them! Even though they obviously authorized this company to sell their products! So that 15 year warranty means nothing! At the time, I paid $219.95 for this useless piece of junk. My father ended up purchasing a cheap juicer at Walmart for around $30 that worked better than the Omega 4000! And by the way, Walmart would have let him return it if the thing didn't work!

Don't spend $200 for a crappy juicer. Save your money get a cheaper juicer because it will perform better than this one and if you get it locally then at least you can return it if it doesn't work or if you really want to see for yourself then purchase it directly through Omega, otherwise they will not honor the warranty or perhaps they just believe this is the way a juicer should work.

Customer Buzz
My wife and I juice at least once, and at times twice daily. We had an inexpensive juicer so I spent a good deal of time reviewing models before I purchased. Several people recommended the Omega 4000 and I narrowed the choices to this one or the Breville Elite which was eliminated as the height was too tall to fit under our upper cabinets.

So I ordered the Omega. I have no complaints regarding the juicing qualities-it is quiet and powerful with a high yield of juice. I have several complaints overall, however. The blade screws on, unlike the Breville which uses a magnet. This means an extra part when it comes to cleaning which can easily become lost. The screen is difficult to clean, more so than our cheap model and unlike some juicers, this one doesn't come with a cleaning brush.

Finally, I think Omega's attention to design is sorely lacking. The pulp container does not fit neatly into the body of the juicer and looks very cheap. Additionally, I find their label on the front to be tacky. I only wish they had paid a modicum of attention to the design that they did to the engineering. The entire unit is very unattractive and does not blend in with upper end appliances. We are planning to remodel our kitchen next year and I will probably replace this juicer at that time with one that doesn't have the above mentioned design problems.

Customer Buzz
I was a serious cyclist about six years ago and used a "Juiceman Junior" three times a day five days a week. I was initially impressed with the unit, especially for the price. Around a year later the bearings in the Juiceman gave up. About this same time, I was married and life took over. Now, seven years later I am looking to get back into cycling and juicing. I have looked at the Omega 4000 several times and compared it with others. I decided on this unit over others based on other reviews and the warranty. I used this unit as soon as it came in. I am happy to say that it performs beautifully. Rather quiet compared to the Juiceman, if I recall correctly. The pulp ejection worked fine and was much dryer compared to that (I feed product in rather slow) ejected from the juiceman. Clean up is no different from what I remember. In my opinion clean up is still too time consuming. Other than making the unit entirely out of stainless, I don't know how it could be easier to clean. If your as picky as me about "clean" a toothbrush works well for the mesh basket. One shot of seven carrots stained the plastic parts as I expected. I am sure by following the provided cleaning tips this can be removed. Plastic parts are; however, far more sturdy than the Juiceman. The juice produced from the Omega 4000 is fantastic, very light on "texture" or pulp. I have been rather hesitant on spending money on another juicer, but hopefully I have made the right choice. Others have commented on good customer support from Omega, that is encouraging. Out of the starting gate I am impressed with the performance of the Omega 4000. We will see what happens in the future, I intend to give this unit a workout! Don't get me wrong the Juiceman is a fair juicer for occasional use, especially for the price. If you are a serious juicer look elsewhere, possibly the Omega 4000.

Customer Buzz
The juicer is fast, easy to clean and works beautifully. I will enjoy it for years to come.

Customer Buzz
Prior to owning the omega 4000, I owned a juiceman junior. The omega 4000 is a neat machine that is very well made. I love the design and the juice does not have as much pulp in it compared to when I was using the juiceman junior.

That being said I hate the design of the spout. I researched this model all over the internet to make sure I was making a good choice and I am surprised that no one mentioned the design of the spout. I am thinking I have a defective bowl and spout. I just bought this machine and am worried that I am going to have to return it. When I first took it out of the box, there was black stuff in the spout...I finally was able to get it out..which is not easy because you need a tiny brush to get inside of the spout to get it clean...Also the inside flap of the spout has a bunch of rust? or something on it...it looks disgusting and dirty. It seriously looks like it is rusting away. I called omega and they say that it is mineral deposits and that I should soak it in cascade dishwasher soap (after 2 uses to have such corrusive stuff on there is insane and I can't imagine if that is normal, what it will look like in a month)...I have done that and it did not take the rust colored stain away. I am disappointed. I have called a local store that sells omega products and they say that no one has ever complained about this issue and that they think I have a defective part. I am calling again to see if they will replace the bowl. So far I am unhappy with their customer service. It seems they do not want to send me a replacement bowl...I thought investing in a more expensive juicer would mean that it would be good quality and would last longer...so far I am not impressed. If the company will not send me a replacement bowl, I am returning this juicer. I am disappointed that they are not making a better effort to make sure their customers are satisfied.
