Metrokane L Press Juicer, Orange Handles

L Press Juicer. Grey rubberized grip handle. Metal flex design to press more juice with less effort from oranges, grapefruit, limes and lemons.

This juicer is built very well, and uses very good material in it's manufacture. It's value ends there! In order to squeeze the orange, you have to try to balance the flat surface of an inverted orange half on the top of rounded cone, then pull the handle down to press the juice out. This is very, very difficult. The orange tips to one side or another, and if you attempt to press, the bulk of the orange, being off to one side, causes the descending part of the press to be forced off to one side and missing most of the orange and interfering with the downward path of the unit. If you finally get the orange to balance in the center, (by holding it in place with your fingers, exposing the fingers to injury as the top descends),and press the top part down to it's maximum pressure, it only extracts juice from the middle of the fruit, leaving unsqueezed orange all around the rim of the fruit. I was getting hardly 2/3 of the volume of juice from the Metrokane L that I get on an electric juicer. I commend Amazon for their liberal return policy, and will definitely continue to do business with Amazon!


I juice a lot of oranges on a regular basis. I have tried manual reamers and electric juicers. I was excited to use one which could apply a lot of pressure quickly and with less effort. The only problem, and it is a big one, is that the juicer leaves a large portion of the flesh unsqueezed. When I use an electric juicer/reamer, there is very little flesh left. With this juicer, the top does not come down far enough onto the removable cup cap to squeeze the whole orange. As a result, you will waste about 25% of the juice. This problem is so obvious that I can take the juiced halves and squeeze more juice out with my bare hand. I will be seeking a refund. I am very disappointed. I can't believe this product is on the market with such poor performance.


Although I've only used it once, I feel compelled to recommend this product. It juices lemons and limes so quickly and almost as good as a reamer or the kitchenaid juicer attachment that I was using previously. Only con so far is that bits of unpressed pulp get pushed towards the rim of the lemon/lime so that it does miss (what I would consider) a negligible amount of juice.

When it comes to cooking and cocktails, using freshly squeezed citrus makes a tremendous difference. One firm squeeze is all you need to extract most of the precious juice while leaving seeds, pulp and any mess behind. Limited lifetime warranty.

Works great. The only advice I would give is to wash it by hand (only takes a few seconds). I've read that the enamel doesn't hold up well in the dishwasher. Other than that it works great! I just got done making fresh lemonade :)

The hinge area which is the most prone to break in these type of products seem sturdy enough to stand up to continual use. The juicer works well if you follow the fool proof directions and don't try to use it for fruits it wasn't meant to be used for.


I have had great luck with this juicer -- easily broke two plastic ones previously and I was discouraged. This item is very sturdy and has not shown any signs of bending or breaking despite my best squeezing efforts. Highly recommended...


I first used a citrus press like this at one of those places where you prepare meals in advance and then take them home to freeze and serve later. I was impressed with it but thought it was available only to restaurants. I happened to see this online and ordered it on the spot. I love it and use it nearly every day. I use a lot of lemon and lime juice and this baby will get every drop out of the fruit with little fuss or mess. I have arthritis in my hands so I was worried that the squeezing motion might be too hard for me, but I have no trouble at all. The tool is hefty and stainless steel so it doesn't react with the acidic citrus like an aluminum one might. I just throw it in the dishwasher after using it. To use the tool, you slice the fruit in half between stem ends and place the half with the cut edge up in the lower perforated bowl. The perforations allow the citrus juice to drip out but the seeds stay in the bowl. The top portion then squeezes down on the cut edge with it's inverted bowl. That inverted bowl has a lip that laps over the lower bowl so you don't get squirted when you press the tool arms together. After the pressing, I tilt it sideways to allow any juice trapped under the lip to drain out.I find myself using it several times every day. I do a lot of cooking and love this tool.


After having used and broken more than one lemon press, I feel entirely confident that such a fate will not befall the Norpro press. This puppy gets it done! I am very, very impressed with the ease of use (squeezes out every last drop) and the ease of cleaning (just pop in the dishwasher, comes out gleaming). I cannot recommend this press enough. It's the one.


This press did a good job. I do wish the bowl was bigger so it would fit the larger lemons and limes. I have found I need to cut the ends off and then cut them in half before squeezing. It is a good product for it's size and price.


I hesitated spending this much money on a juice press given the cheaper alternatives out there. After using now for a month or so I am so glad I spent the extra money. This is made of solid stainless steel, not the aluminum pot metal commonly used in less expensive versions. It feels very solid and well-built and I'm sure will last a lifetime. Squeezes every last drop of juice out of lemons and limes.


This squeezer is poorly designed and too small to juice oranges. It needs to be larger around and shallower. I have a somewhat similar lemon juicer which gets an incredible amount of juice out of a lemon so I had high hopes for this. It's expensive, especially since it doesn't do the job. I can't quite figure out all the 5 star reviews. The do show it with a lemon and a lime so perhaps it is not meant for juicing oranges.


I love making mojitos... And as fun as it is to muddle mint and lime together, it's much more ecnomical to juice the lime first, and throw the juiced rind into the mix...

This juicer get's every little bit out of each lime I squeeze. I bought the stainless steel for it's durablity and in the first 3 weeks have not been disappointed.


I have used this tool many times for squeezing lemons and limes (it's too small for oranges) and it seems to be fairly sturdy with a stainless-steel finish that holds up to the dishwasher. However, it doesn't seem to close on itself as much as it should, leaving too much room (and juice) between the two halves. I found that by leaving an already-squeezed fruit in place when I insert the next one, it makes up the gap and yields more juice. Also, by cutting a shallow X across the fruit's cut end, extending through the peel, it helps the fruit to crush in the right direction. Beware of squirting juice!


Yes you do! Squeezing lemons is indeed a joy in life and this juicer brings the maximum joy! What I mean is, yes it hits the sweet spot amongst citrus juicers. It's not too mechanical and removed, not too difficult and messy to use, but just right and with the tactile feedback that gives you the satisfactory feeling of accomplishment. Holds in the hand with a solid feeling of quality and heft.

Helpful Hint: Squeeze both sides. Start with cut side up to break into the fruit and split the skin, but squeeze slowly at first to avoid an eyeful! Flip it over and get all the juice out. Squeeze it baby!

In A Perfect World: Wish it had a hole for hanging and a bit longer handle.
