From oxo comes this Good Grips Citrus Juicer, designed for ultimate convenience. It's two-sided so you can use it with small and large citrus fruits. Unique design makes it easy to hold and it features measurement markings that are accurate when reamer is removed. Disassembles for easy cleaning and is dishwasher safe. Made of durable, high-density plastic.

This juicer has two juicer attachments to juice large fruits, (grapefruits) or small fruits, (lemons and limes). Very easy to use, but not ready for the dishwasher. Very easy to take it apart and hand-wash. The first juicer became warped when we put it in the dishwasher. This purchase was simply a replacement.


I learned about the effectiveness of this product on "America's Test Kitchen," and the product review on cooksillustrated.com in an article discussing citrus juicers and reamers. Part of the review is copied here, since it's a subscription site, I can't just link it!

"After testing nine models, I found that the better models have a pointed tip, which effectively pierces the core of the lemon and grabs hold. Without the pointed tip, the lemon slips right off the head. The second important feature is the sharpness of the ridges. Those with sharp, pointed ridges "gripped" the lemon well, making it easy to extract maximum juice with minimum effort, while those with rounded ridges caused the lemon to slide around, making for difficult juicing.

The two winners of our tests were the plastic Oxo Good Grips Citrus Juicer ($11.99) and the Fox Run Wood Lemon Reamer ($2.99). They both juiced lemons quickly and efficiently. I have found ATK/CI equipment reviews to be reliable and am ordering it on their recommendation!

Oxo Good Grips Citrus Juicer

Product Description

Squeeze orange or grapefruit juice for breakfast, lemon or lime juice for your Caribbean sautEed shrimp dinner. This simple and versatile low-tech juicer has two different sized reamers to suit your needs.

I bought this citrus juicer to juice lemons in the morning for a pitcher of lemon water to drink throughout the day. It works just fine for me and is a heck of a lot easier to clean than my big juicer.


No complaints here - this juicer does a great job with lemons, limes and oranges. Larger grapefruits may be a bit of a challenge, but I haven't actually tried one either. The two sided part is handy and I do agree that the holes that strain the juice are generous, but I rarely get a seed in the cup and if they were smaller I think they'd clog with pulp. The grippy bottom is nice so it doesn't scoot all over the counter while you're using it. Finally, it's solid enough that I'd have to really work to break it - a real plus in my kitchen!


The raised edges allow you to extract a lot of juice, and it feels ergonomically correct. It's quite easy to put the 3 parts together. I wash it in the top rack of the dishwasher with no ill effects. This is a big step-up from our old, no-name juicer of a similar design.


I squint and squint, but even with reading glasses and good light, I'm pretty much forced to have to pour the juice out into another measuring cup to see if I've squeezed the amount the recipe calls for. And yes, as someone else mentioned, an occasional seed falls through. Other than that, I find this a breeze to use, it's easy on the wrist and all in all makes a very useful addition to my kitchen gadgetry. And I like that it comes in three pieces...makes cleaning so easy.


It is an in adequate design. Easy to clean in the dishwasher is the only positive about it.

It takes assembling three sections to use. I would live with one size borer and have it fixed in place instead of fiddling with the reversible bore, and lining up and inserting the little tab in place. The shape is awkward.

The holes below the borer are too big, so you have the seeds falling into the juice which is another step for getting them out.

I like the old fashioned ones with a flat cup and a lid and tiny holes so the juice is filtered.

I would not buy it again, and I am still looking for the easy and practical old style lemon squeezer. If I find it, this one is getting thrown out.

I am a relatively new cook (just two years of being really interested in cooking) and I always squeezed out my lemon and lime juice by hand. I never knew that there was a tool for getting the juice out. This wooden reamer works so much better than I ever thought it would, getting the most juice out at the quickest pace. Well worth it - another essential tool in my kitchen.


At last, a lemon squeezer that gets it all. The squared off edges bite into the pulp so well that there is very little juice left on the rind. The point bores through the end of the lemon rind, forcing it higher up the shaft so that it fills larger lemons thereby relieving you of the chore of gripping the rind ever tighter to ream out the last bit of juice. This is a big plus for those of us who have gotten older and lost some of our ability to grip as tight as we once could.


This is the best lemon juicer. Gets every last drop. Also, a good shape and size as it is comfortable to hold.


Love this little juicer. I ALMOST didn't order because of the listed product dimensions:
"Product Dimensions: 6.3 x 0.6 x 0.6" ... the 0.6" x 0.6" is INCORRECT. It is about 1.6" x 1.6" x length.

Can't beat the price! ... Easy to use ... effective ... cleans easily!


There's nothing better than the old school. What worked for my mother and grandmother works for me. That juicer is great. It does the job and, it's a snap to clean. I should have bought it years ago. Also the OXO name is a name you can trust for the best kitchen utensils.


I have several reamers, but for the price, you can't beat a plain wooden one. I started out with this model, and after using it several times a week, decided to purchase a nice metal one. I prefer my metal reamer, but this is really a great, inexpensive one too. Every kitchen should definitely have one!


I love this little juicer. Before I got this I would hand squeeze the juice from lemons and limes when needed in a recipe. I always felt guilty throwing away the lemon or lime knowing there was still a bit of juice left. However, with this wooden reamer you get every last drop of juice. This is a handy little item at a great price.

OXO Good Grips Wooden Reamer

A very nice hand reamer for my citrus, it's lightweight and sits comfortably in my hand as most OXO brand utensils do...My only recommendation is to rinse it off the moment you're done and let it dry completely before storing, since it's wooden...In future I think if it breaks (from wear and tear) or goes missing, although there's nothing wrong with this one, I'll buy OXO's aluminum reamer instead so I don't have to worry about the preservation of a wooden utensil.


Love this item. The sharp ridges really scrape every little drop of juice out of a lime. Since it is made from wood, it is not slippery on wet hands or wet citrus for that matter. Good grip. Small enough to store in a kitchen drawer. Money well spent.

OXO Good Grips 1057962 Citrus Squeezer

Good Grips Citrus Squeezer

The Oxo Citrus squeezer for use with lemons is quite imperfect. The problems:
1. It will often spurt juice out of the sides no matter what kind of hand pressure one uses.
2. It requires that you reverse or invert the fruit for a more complete extraction after the initial squeeze.
3. Many lemons are too large for the bowl and must be trimmed.
4. It requires a fair amount of hand strength to use without bracing it against something.

Nonetheless, I use it frequently because while imperfect, it is handy and I don't know if another type would perform better.


Great for limes and lemons, too big for key limes. I got this to replace one of the enameled ones after all the enamel started flaking off. I believe the clear anodized finish will last much longer. This juicer came alone in a box the size of a litter box though, completely wasteful packaging.


OXO doesnt disappoint. Great ergonomics on the device and it does what it's supposed to.


I bought this to help me juice lemons because I wanted to try the Master Cleanse Diet and detoxify. I have been using it with lemons and limes for about a week now. Larger lemons need to have the pointed ends cut off first to allow the top to push down on the lemon at the best angle. You place the lemon half face down and the squeezing action turns the lemon half inside-out. I gets a lot of the juice out but not all of it. It gets more of the juice from smaller or thin skinned lemons like "meyer" lemons. If you are juicing smaller or expensive organic lemons you can stack the two already squeezed halves on top of each other and squeeze them both to get the remaining juice out. I do like that is it well made and easy to clean. Lemon rind and pith will eventually build up on the rounded parts if you juice a lot of lemons at once, but you can simply clean it off with a scrub pad. They are heavy weight and will probably last a lifetime. My only complaints are that sometimes juice squirts out of the topside and that it doesn't get all the juice out on its own. Otherwise I am certainly glad I purchased it and will continue to use it.


This item is very well-built and easy to use. The grips are well-made with good traction. I expect this item to be great for years to come. Highly recommended.


I love this little gadget. We have a huge Lime tree in our yard that has a bumper crop of limes right now. I use the juice of a whole lime in my iced tea, hot tea, fruit juices; and I juice several to season chicken or fish. This rugged little kitchen helper doesn't get much rest and I am very happy with its performance, especially for the little Amazon price. I destroyed a similar plastic squeezer that I got at a local grocery store, but this one seems to be holding up very well under the pressure.

For best results, I slice both ends off of the citrus to be juiced, then I slice it in half and then place a half in the gadget and squeeze, release, squeeze, release and squeeze again to get most of the juice out. I hardly get any seeds in the juice, which is an extra plus.

Get this one!! The price is right and it probably works as well as the pricier ones. I have been using this one for about a month and so far am very pleased!


Yea, It's a squeezer and it's not plastic like the one I am replacing. Yea, It works.


I'm quite happy with the squeezer. It's exceptionally solid and comfortable for the price, yet compact for the drawer. I'm pretty strong, yet I think I'd have trouble breaking it. I do wish it were slightly larger. It's labeled as a lemon/lime squeezer but a big ol' California lemon is a tight fit. A little larger and you could squeeze smaller oranges with it.


Nice addition to our bar for fresh LIME juice. As others have said, it struggles with larger lemons although it works ok with smallish ones. We ended up ordering another squeezer for lemons.

Works well, looks decent. Overall, quite happy and only expected it to work with limes based on other reviews (which were right).


I was very disappointed in this product. It just didn't work as well as squeezing by hand. DO NOT PURCHASE. This is a total waste of money.
